Story Time & Workshops

Celebrate the release of Dannika Patterson’s latest picture book title by playing with perspective – both literally and figuratively!

This session will start with a reading of Dannika’s brand-new picture book, Zoom, a story about a child who gains a fresh perspective as he learns to ‘zoom out’ from the details of his tough day at school and see a bigger picture.

After the reading, children will be invited to use a range of ‘old-fashioned’ cameras, like the one in the story, as well as other viewfinders. They’ll spend time looking through different lenses and experimenting with the focus and the view.

The children will then have the opportunity to craft their own cardboard cameras with a range of recycled and upcycled materials.

A family photo booth will also be available, with a range of story-themed props for dress-up fun.
